Earlier this month it looked like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game for Xbox consoles had been postponed, maybe even cancelled. Activision said that “when and whether ASM2 is released on Xbox One is TBD.” So this game’s release has been confusing to say the least. This game is no longer up in the air. In fact, it has landed.
It was originally to be released on April 29th in the U.S. and the game has now been released for Xbox.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is now available for both Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles. Digital download in the U.S. costs is $59.99 and $49.99. Want to play it on the PS4? Well, on May 2nd this title will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and the PC.
You may not realize this, but Titanfall for the Xbox 360 is not made by Respawn. The Xbox 360 port of the game was handled by Bluepoint. It looks like they have done a pretty good job with the Xbox 360 version of the game, if you ask us.
However, because of this, the Xbox 360 version of the game will get its updates after the Xbox One and the PC version of the game. No one should be surprised by this, but Respawn Entertainment has confirmed the news on their website. So now we know.
Respawn says that, “Updates for the Xbox 360 will naturally follow behind similar updates for the PC and Xbox One. This timing difference is due to the same reasons that more time was needed to finish Titanfall for the Xbox 360.”
They also added, “Respawn must first finish their additions and improvements for the Xbox One and PC, and afterwards Bluepoint can then grab the latest and update the Xbox 360 version. We’re working with Respawn and Bluepoint to streamline the process and close the gap, allowing Xbox 360 updates to be published as closely as possible to Respawn’s updates.”
