Sprint Galaxy SIII Gets Android 4.4.2 KitKat

There’s a piece of good news for those rocking a Samsung Galaxy SIII tied to Sprint. The carrier is finally rolling out the much awaited Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the device as we speak.

The latest Android 4.4 KitKat update bumps the build number to  L710VPUCND8, and is rolling out today. The complete change log is not available, and the Sprint’s support page only lists “Android 4.4 KitKat update” in the description section.

But, we have a little bit of idea of what the Android 4.4 KitKat has to offer to its users, especially for Samsung devices. The latest KitKat update comes with improved messaging capabilities that give users the ability to select Hangouts as the default messaging apps, tweaked UI with white status bar icons, wireless printing support, camera shortcut on the lock screen and a number of improvements.

It may take a few days for the update to arrive, but users can manually check for the update by heading over to Settings > More > System update > Update Samsung software > Check new. Let us know if you received the update.
