In the console world, there is no bigger battle than the Sony PlayStation versus the Xbox One. In some markets, the PlayStation is the clear winner, while in other markets, the Xbox platform is the winner. However, Sony is looking like a clear victor lately with each months sales.
In the US, Sony’s PlayStation 4 has managed to outsell the Xbox One for the fourth month in a row. This news comes from the NPD Group whose recent figures have proven that the PS4 has sold more units compared to the Xbox One for the month of April in the US. You might remember the days when the Xbox 360 console managed to dominate the US market for more than a year. Well, that was then and this is now. Times have changed.
As for video games in general, the NPD Group says that Titanfall is currently the best selling game at the moment, followed by Call of Duty: Ghosts, NBA 2K14, Minecraft, LEGO The Hobbit, The LEGO Movie Videogame, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Grand Theft Auto V, and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
They point out that software sales are something of a mixed bag, saying, “New physical software is in a transition period as software for new consoles are doing well, but collectively not offsetting declines, leading to a 10 percent decline in software sales… PS4 software combined with Xbox One software sales are up over 40 percent compared to sales of the PS3 and Xbox 360 through their first six months. Wii U software sales were up over last year by over 80 percent.”
Well, The PS4 is dominating at the moment, but I’m sure Titanfall is helping the Xbox One.
