Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime To Be Available In Limited Quantities

Before the Samsung Galaxy S5 was launched, there were rumors that the handset would come with a QHD display, when the device launched it had an FHD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Since the Galaxy S5 launched, we have been hearing rumors about a new version,the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, which will features a QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, the last thing we heard was that the Prime would launch in June.

According to some recent report in the Korean media, Samsung had originally planned to launch the Galaxy S5 with a QHD display, but they had to switch to an FHD display due to production issues on the QHD display.

The QHD display for the Galaxy S5 apparently comes with high production costs, this is why Samsung switched to an FHD display for the Galaxy S5.

Samsung still plan to launch a QHD version of the Galaxy S5 in the form of the Galaxy S5 Prime, the device will apparently be available in limited quantities, and will have a higher price tag than the original handset.

As well as the QHD display, the Galaxy S5 Prime is expected to get some other upgrades to jusitfy the higher price, these are rumored to include a quad core 2.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor with a clock speed of 2.4GHz.

The handset will also come with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built in storage, it is also said to feature a 16 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime will come with Android 4.4 Kit Kat and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, as soon as we get some more details on the handset, including a specific launch date, we will let you guys know.
